Biała Kalina Kaczawy – Rooms with a soul in the heart of Dobkow

At Biała Kalina, we offer 4 spacious, sunlit rooms for rent, each with its own individual bathroom. These rooms are located on the first floor of the building, where there is also a communal kitchen and hallway – creating a space exclusively for our guests. The total area is approximately 150 sq. m and there is the possibility of renting the entire space by several friendly families, to relax together in the company of the loved ones.

All rooms have been meticulously restored to best highlight elements characteristic of old Sudeten architecture. Here you will discover original brick and stone walls, sandstone and basalt details, Prussian wall, Klein arches, and exposed beams.

Words cannot fully describe the charm of this place, which is why we warmly encourage you to see it with your own eyes. Even the most beautiful photographs are not able to fully capture its true character! 😉

Discover the uniqueness of each of our rooms

A shared kitchen – located on the first floor between the Half-timbered room and Idyllic Room. It is equipped with modern kitchen appliances such as a 4-burner induction hob, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, kitchen hood, essential pots, plates and cutlery, as well as kitchen furniture for convenient storage of food products you bring.

In addition, there’s enough space for simultaneous feasting for 7-8 people. The room overlooks the courtyard, allowing you to watch your children playing in the sandbox.

Hallway and Stairs – Perhaps not the most important part of our house at first glance, but the fact that you have to pass through it multiple times allows you to notice and hopefully appreciate the beauty of its character and furnishings.

Every time you will be able to admire the old wooden stairs and banister, the restored Prussian wall and the exposed brick wall, a beautifully showcased wide brick arch, and the charming wooden ceiling with exposed beams, along with many other details placed there by our interior designer. And as a bonus, you will find the Wi-Fi password for Biala Kalina!

Fireplace Room (The Old Stable) – A room located on the ground floor of the building where there used to be a stable, was evidenced by the sandstone troughs, slightly sloping brick floor and drainage.

But don’t worry, the room is currently beening thoroughly restored. Its walls are mainly built of dark basalt with sandstone and brick elements around the windows, and the ceiling is beautifully restored Klein arches and a cleverly incorporated suspended ceiling lined with old boards reclaimed from other rooms of our house. This room is intended for gatherings in larger groups.

Our apartment on the ground floor – A separate place where the hosts live, so as to interfere as little as possible (preferably not at all) with your stay at Biała Kalina. However, if you need any assistance, just knock  😉

Cellars in the main building – These are potential spaces to be adopted in the future. It’s certainly known that they are also built of basalt, brick and sandstone, which beauty is a value in itself. How they will be used – we’ll see!

Herbarium (The Old Pigsty) – This is a separate, small, two-story building standing next to Biała Kalina. In the past farm animals were bred there, as evidenced by both the wall partitions and the drainage channels. But the potential is much greater and will certainly be used!

Barn – As a barn, it once served farmers to store the fruits of their hard labor, so in size it is larger than Biała Kalina. Interestingly, there are still old farm machines in it, but these are really old – even with original German inscriptions. And we think we already have an idea on how to display them…

Courtyard – This is a space between all the buildings of our homestead, but you can find a place here for both feasting on the terrace, sunbathing depending on the time of day, or children playing in the sandbox under remote supervision of adults who are in the kitchen upstairs at the time.

As an extra functionality, you can find a smoking corner here – the only official place at Biała Kalina to indulge in the pleasures of smoking if someone really has no other choice 🙁

Garden and old orchard – Biała Kalina is located on a plot of 5500 sq.m, where you can find a more well-kept part in the form of a large lawn, a playhouse for children in the shade of old cherries, a space to sit under the trees or in full sun, a designated place for a bonfire and feasting, and a beautiful Snowball Tree, allowing you to enjoy its charm from spring to late autumn.

In the other part of our garden, you can see an area overgrown with natural vegetation like tall trees, bushes, flowers, and grasses. There are also apple trees of old varieties like Golden Delicious, Antonovka, or Kosztela. All this surrounded by beautiful greenery, where you can hear the wonderful singing of birds or observe a flying bat.

And additionally, we have a designated place for night star observation, as this is an area with high darkening and without the occurrence of direct artificial light. That’s why at Biała Kalina you can borrow a telescope for night star observation for free. Interested? Ask the hosts 😉
