Land of Extinct Volcanoes

Did you know that in Poland, not far from our house, there is an amazing place called the UNESCO Geopark Land of Extinct Volcanoes? We must admit that we were not aware of this until the moment we first visited this region. Since then, the beauty and uniqueness of this area continue to surprise and inspire us.

Yes, it’s true – real volcanoes once thrived here, and today we can admire their remnants in various forms. Starting with the simplest ones, such as individual stones of volcanic origin, like beautiful agates, through incredible rock formations, which are a direct result of volcanic activity, such as the Wielisław Organs or the smaller Myślibórz Organs.

But that’s not all. We can also admire impressive peaks (or more scientifically – volcanic necks), such as Czartowska Rock or Ostrzyca Proboszczowicka, which due to its distinctive shape is called the Silesian Fuji.
